Not a whole lot has happened this past two weeks. This I believe has set up camp in my brain. A minor roadblock, but that’s ok. I’m trying this new thing where I don’t try and do everything at once…which eventually leads to a breakdown. Something interesting that I’m gradually building is the paint materials I’ve began collecting. So far I have acquired nice quality chalk that I can grind, shells from the beach that I’m nearly done powderizing, and some ochre I found on a logging road. I’m also thinking of walking up to the construction site in Belcarra because I noticed today while walking home that the construction workers have dug up a lot of orangey-red clay pigment. Taking some of the dirt I’ve seen on the road at the site would save me ruining my yard trying to dig up my own clay mixed dirt. I have pictures I’ll upload later when I’m not writing this on my phone
My next step is to take a trip to Value Village to find a sturdy blender I can throw colorful things I find in. I have a feeling my mother wouldn’t appreciate me putting unknown substances in her unscathed bosch blender. One recipe I would like to make for painting with red calls for animal or human blood. I’m not entirely comfortable (or allowed) to use my own blood so when I decide to do this recipe I’m planning on going to the super store and hunting down the juiciest, bloodiest steak I can find.
Next week’s goals:
-find a blender
-finish powerizing shells
-explore indigenous face paint materials and mixing
Have a splendiforous weekend everyone,
Immy

Immy, you are very resourceful. You live in just the perfect community to find all the natural resources you need. I look forward to seeing some of the finished paint mixtures!
